Description
The super bright star at the heart of the NGC 3132 nebula plays a pivotal role in sculpting the gas and dust clouds that surround it while a second faintly-visible partner jettisons the majority of the material we see in this cloud. The intricate lines and structures we can see through this James Webb image are caused by interactions and turbulence between the two stars locked in a tight orbit.
