Centaurus A is notable for its warped disk of gas and dust that shows the impact of two galaxies colliding some billions of years ago. The centre of the Centaurus galaxy is a highly active region that emits jets of gas, dust, and radiation periodically.
At only 13 million light-years from Earth, Centaurus A is a relative neighbour and an ideal chance for the to study an active galactic nucleus emitting jests and winds from its core. This image was captured by Hubble, Chandra, and the Very Large Array instruments in combination.
